The American Council of Engineering Companies, California is proud to announce the 2016-2017 Scholarship Foundation awards. Every year, ACEC California’s Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to deserving graduate or undergraduate college students working toward a degree in engineering or land surveying, with the top award recipients are nominated to apply for the ACEC National scholarship competition. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $7,500, and this year the Scholarship Foundation awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarship funds to eleven students.
“These accomplished students represent California’s bright future, and I’m proud ACEC California can play a role helping them achieve their full potential,” said Brad Diede, Executive Director at ACEC California. “Engineering and land surveying are a critical part of California’s economic strength and it is critical to support students who are working hard towards entering these professions.”
Of the eleven students receiving ACEC California Scholarship Foundation awards: three are working towards graduate degrees and eight are working towards undergraduate degrees. Not only did the entire group of scholarship award recipients possess notable academic achievement, their diverse interests and achievements also include performing in the San Jose Community Orchestra; elected positions in student government; and service in organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and on campus ministry.
