ACEC California Announces 2019-2020 Scholarship Foundation Recipients

American Council of Engineering Companies, California (ACEC California) is proud to help support the bright and promising careers of engineering and land surveying students and today announced the recipients of its 2019-2020 Scholarship Foundation awards

ACEC California’s Scholarship Foundation awards annual scholarships to accomplished graduate and undergraduate college students working toward a degree in engineering or land surveying, with the top award recipient nominated to apply for the ACEC National scholarship competition.

ACEC California awarded a total of $42,000 in scholarship funds to 14 students: six graduate students and eight undergraduate students. This year’s scholarship recipients have demonstrated notable achievement in their respective areas of study and a strong interest in pressing policy issues facing California, including: leading an experimental research project studying the fundamental material behavior of hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete; volunteering as leaders in professional associations; working on the California High Speed Train for construction CP 1, from Fresno to Madera; having a passion for sustainability; receiving the WTS Transportation Academy Certification; being recognized in the Agricultural Research Institutes annual report for work done using Ground Penetrating Radar; and conducting soil tests to determine maximum density vs optimum moisture for compaction testing.
