ACEC California is pleased to honor P2S Inc. in Long Beach with an Engineering Excellence Merit Award for its work on California State University Long Beach’s Net Zero Energy College of Professional and International Education and for its work on the Aquarium of the Pacific, Pacific Visions Expansion project.
As the first net zero energy building on the California State University Long Beach’s campus, P2S Inc. implemented occupancy control sensors for systems like overhead lighting, heating, ventilation and cooling systems, thus pairing sustainable building systems with designs that maximize natural resources.
P2S Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecom and security services to the highly anticipated expansion of the Aquarium of the Pacific, implementing sustainable design options, like carbon dioxide occupancy detection to reduce the amount of outside air brought into the building during reduced occupancy periods; insulated ductwork; and high efficiency plumbing fixtures.
Ardurra Group, Inc. dba AndersonPenna Partners in El Segundo was also recognized with a Merit Award for the Third Street & Broadway Streetscape, Traffic Calming and Cycle Track Improvements in Long Beach, which forms a one-way couplet, providing important access from the downtown core of Long Beach to the I-710 Freeway. The protected bikeway shifts parking away from the curb line and provides a separated bikeway located between parked vehicles and the right-side curb, which allow for better connections to existing and future bicycle facilities.
Congratulations P2S Inc and Ardurra Group, Inc. dba AndersonPenna Partners!
