ACEC California, once again, hosted a very successful Legislative Visit Day last week. The morning began with an Issues Breakfast, where ACEC California members walked through several issues facing our industry, such as indemnity reform, public-private partnerships and transportation funding.
ACEC California member, Stantec was honored at the 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards for their partnership with the South San Joaquin Irrigation District on a new, completely pressurized irrigation system.
ACEC California member firm, Lescure Engineers, Inc, was honored with a Small Firm Merit Award at the 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards for their work on the Graton Community Services District Water Resource Recovery Facility Upgrade. The intent of the Awards is to recognize outstanding achievements in engineering and land surveying projects completed by California firms.
ACEC California firm, HMH Engineers of San Jose, was honored with a Merit Award at the 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards, for their work on US 101 Operational Improvements from 1-280/680 to Yerba Buena Road in San Jose.
ACEC California Member ARCADIS has been recognized with an Engineering Excellence Honor Awards for their work on the Hinkley Whole-House Replacement Water Program, a project to remove hexavalent chromium from domestic drinking water wells. ACEC California will honor four San Diego firms at their 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet, for their work on public improvement projects in the San Diego region.
As we enter the season of giving, some local engineers have really taken that spirit to great heights – and distances. ACEC California members Kleinfelder and CH2M Hill, along with local engineering students, recently completed a project to build freshwater spring boxes in the Kenyan village of Shisasari.
